In her role as General Counsel and Vice President, Trisha is the principal legal officer for Canter Companies, with overall responsibility for the vision and leadership of the legal strategy. She is also an advisor and counselor to the President, the senior leadership team (of which she is a member), and is a strategic thought partner on all critical matters involving the divisions.
Trisha has more than fifteen years of in-house and private law firm experience. In addition to her extensive legal and corporate management experience, Trisha is an entrepreneur and problem solver at her core. She is uniquely capable of understanding more than just the legal implications of a transaction or decision and has a proven track record of providing pragmatic solutions to complex business processes and driving results.
Trisha earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and her B.A. double major with honors from the University of California, Davis. She was admitted in 2005 to both the California and Federal Court. Before attending law school, Trisha worked briefly for Lincoln Unified School District, the District Attorney’s Office, the Federal Defender's Office and the Department of Justice.
Trisha is from Stockton, CA. She is very proud of her entrepreneurial family and that she is the first in her family to graduate college. She is married to her husband Chris, a New Yorker, who came to San Diego to escape the winters and never left. They have three children, Avery, Emi and Luke. When she is not in the office or working on a new business idea she is out-and-about in Solana Beach, checking out open houses, at the gym, shuttling the kids around, and cheering for them on the field.
